Brand
MISSONI
-MISSONI-
Missoni was founded in Italy in 1953 by the Missoni couple. Her husband, Ottavio, competed in the 1948 London Olympics as an athlete. It was there that he met Rosita, whom he married. From that time on, his knitwear, with its emphasis on colorful geometric patterns, became an explosive hit. In 1966, he made his collection debut in Milan, and in 1983, he was commissioned by La Scala to design costumes for the stage. In 1997, the founding couple retired, and their daughter Angela Missoni and her three siblings took over the business, which continues to attract upper-class fans around the world.
In 2009, a luxury hotel with interior design by Missoni opened in Edinburgh, Scotland, and in the same year, a store opened in Sao Paulo, marking the brand's expansion into South America.
