Y-3 is a brand born in 2003 as a collaboration between Adidas and designer Yohji Yamamoto. Prior to that, the footwear division debuted as "adidas for Yohji Yamamoto" in the "Yohji Yamamoto Femme/Homme" collection in 2001. Incidentally, the "Y" in Y-3 stands for Yohji Yamamoto, and the "3" stands for the three stripes of Adidas. The brand's concept is to "make sportswear elegant and chic," and it embodies Yohji Yamamoto's desire to "create something that never existed before."
