Born near Venice in 1945, Vanni Di Filippo worked as a Carabinieri (uniformed Italian police on horseback) and sold car parts while studying art through correspondence courses at an art school in Paris.
He learned his skills at a bag factory owned by his wife Nadia's relatives, and now he creates artisanal bags with unique designs and the bison (buffalo) mark, which represents a strong and proud image.
The company opened a small leather goods store in Florence in 1970, and now has stores in major cities around the world, including its home base in Florence, Rome, New York, and even Canada, and continues to be loved by fans who seek the real thing.
